Pumpkin Wishes & Turkey Day Dreams!

Marley here again! Are all you dogs getting excited for Thanksgiving? Think of all those drumsticks! Wow, I can hardly wait that long to Gobble Gobble!! Just the smell when my Mom cooks the turkey gets my nose going! It is such a fun day because everyone just likes to eat, and that is what we dogs like to do best. But don't forget to get your exercise as well after all that Turkey!

Twas the night of Thanksgiving, but I just couldn't sleep. I tried counting backwards, I tried counting sheep. The leftovers beckoned, the dark meat and white, but I fought the temptation with all of my might. Tossing and turning on my BioMedic Memory Foam Bed
with anticipation, the thought of a snack became infatuation. So, I raced to the kitchen, to sniff out the floor to see if that was all the turkey or if there was more. I felt myself swelling so plump and so round, 'til all of a sudden, I rose off of the ground. I crashed through the ceiling, floating into the sky, with a mounthful of pumpkin and a pawful of pie. But, I managed to bark as I soared past the trees...Happy Eating You Dogs - Pass the Cranberries, Please. May your stuffing be tasty, May your turkey be plump. May your potatoes 'n gravy not go to your rump. May your yams be delicious. May your pies be tasty. Keep that Thanksgiving Dinner off of your thighs and don't let your plate be bigger than your eyes!!! Yappy Thanksgiving to All You Dogs!

Bow Wow!

Dog Collars Express Personality!

Dogs, are we all ready to express our very own personality in the collar or collars we wear? Dog collars are like necklaces are to humans. There are so many to choose from that it gets very confusing. They come in all different sizes, styles, colors etc. Some have jewels, studs, spikes, animal prints, metallic, leather, & more, but I know what I like! We, dogs, have our own taste and want to be proud of the collars we choose. We want other dogs to sit-up and notice us. We aren't that much different than humans really! A woman or man would choose a necklace that they would be proud to wear and that people would notice or comment about. A dog is no different! Dogs love getting compliments! We just wag our tails to say "thank you for noticing."

I have been wanting a new collar and have been looking through all the possibilities. It would be fun to have a special collar for Halloween and for Christmas. There are several cute ones to choose from. I think I would like the Pumpkin collar for Halloween

and maybe the Wreath collar for Christmas.

But for my every day collar I think I like something a little glitzy! I may choose the Jewel Croc Leather Collar in pink
since I am a girl you know! If you're a girl, you need to show that femine side! I think my owner can even get a leash to match the collar. I have been torn because I also love the animal print collars, especially the Leopard or Tiger
because they would match my fur coat best. See what I mean, there are just too many to choose from! What is a dog to do?

Always make sure the collar fits your dog well. I just hate it if my collars get too tight! It is like wearing a choker necklace, and you just can't breathe. Look for the sizing chart that is always available.

Well, need to get with my day! Hope your dog gets lots of compliments on their collars! I enjoy compliments! They make me feel all warm & fuzzy inside & out!
Until next time, Bow Wow!!

I am Dog Gone Angry!!

Where do I start? I am so angry and upset by the news of Michael Vick returning to the NFL to play football! What are humans thinking? Playing in the NFL is an honor and privilege! Why would humans be honoring a man who torchured and killed my innocent furry friends with his own hands? If he had done this to a human, I know he would have been punished in a more severe way, and there is no way this man would be allowed to play football for the NFL!

Dogs are nothing but loyal and faithful to humans, and this is how they are treated? How inhumane can it get? Why are humans letting this man get by with this cruelty and unfeeling for a life?

Watching Michael Vick interviewed the other night on TV, sickened me! Humans are giving this man much too much press, and once again making him a Millionaire! He should be giving the salary he makes from playing football to the Humane Society to help my furry friends, if he is sincere about what he did to all those helpless dogs! Do you really believe Michael Vick is sincerely sorry for what he did to my furry friends? Because I believe he is only sorry that he got caught! Oh, don't get me wrong, I do believe humans should give people a second chance as we, dogs have always done! Dogs are the most forgiving species on earth! But in this case, it is like letting a human off for performing mass murders with their own hands. It is easy to get on TV and say you are sorry, but very difficult to mean it!

I don't care if Michael Vick is the greatest football player on this earth, my furry friends and I don't think he should be given that honor or opportunity to play football ever again in the NFL. There are certainly a lot of other good, talented, upstanding, people who play football, and would love and deserve the honor to play football in the NFL!

So take a stand if you humans have any conscience at all! Stop the Dog Fighting rings! Make your voices heard and stop Michael Vick from returning to the NFL! To allow him back in the NFL is sending the wrong message to kids today! We, dogs, love humans unconditionally, and want nothing more than to be treated humanely and loved in return!

Bow Wow! Until next time!

Marley's Dog Days of Summer!

Marley says "It is Hot in Arizona this summer!" I am really looking forward to it cooling off, but that probably won't happen until Oct. at the earliest so my parents tell me. I am just a puppy and this has been my first summer experience in Arizona. My Dad has to take me for a walk around 4:30 or 5 A.M. every morning before it gets too hot! I need my exercise! You know you should never take a dog out for a walk here during the day because they might get heatstroke, burn their pads or just get plain sick! Always allow your dog to rest and make sure they get plenty of water! I hope your parents take good care of you dogs like mine do! My parents never take me in the car unless they need to in the summer, and would never leave me in the heated car. A dog could die from the heat! In the summer heat temperatures in a car can rise to 120 degrees or more!

Symptoms of a heatstroke in a dog include increased heart rate, labored breathing, weakness and even seizures and coma. If you suspect your dog is on the verge of heatstroke, cool him down quickly with water or cover him with wet towels. Then head to the Vet! The earlier a heatstroke is treated the more likely your dog will recover.

Ask your parents to help protect your eyes from the sun by buying you Doggles. They are great and help protect your eyes from the elements. They come in such fun styles and many different sizes! I love mine! I guess it sounds like I am a little spoiled, but what can a dog do?

I enjoy going outside and lying in the sun during the day, but my parents won't let me stay out too long either which sometimes gets on my nerves, but I guess they know what is best for me. It just doesn't give me much time to chase those lizards (or lizzies as we call them). Shade can help keep a dog cool, but not really that much in the Dog Days of Summer in Arizona. Air conditioning and fans can really help to cool you down.

I do love water, and love to be misted with the water from the hose. I run through the sprinklers as often as I can and I have a kiddie pool that really cools me down too. My parents want to get a real pool, and that will really be fun for me. I can't wait! I even enjoy my baths outside now! I do tend to get a little rambunctious when I get wet!

One of my favorite things is the Kool Dogz Ice Treat Maker! That can cool a dog down really well! I love ice!! You might want to consider getting one of these for your dog! What a great treat!

Well, I am a little exhausted from the heat so I best go take a nap! Until next time, chill out! Bow Wow!

My First Halloween!

It is only the end of July, and I am getting so excited for my first Halloween! I've been told that it is such a Fun time for all Doggies. I get so comfused because my family has been working the whole month of July on their Christmas in July Furniture Sale at www.ILikeFurniture.com. I thought Christmas was in December? Oh well, I guess I am learning a lot! There is just so much to learn in your first year of life!

I have been told, that Halloween is sure to be one of the best times I will have with dressing up in costumes, and trick or treating. I suppose my family will want to take pictures of me too! Oh no! I just hate having my picture taken! The sight of a camera coming my direction gets my mohawk up! I guess I better just chill and try to go along with it. Afterall, I do love my family and they love me, that is why they want pictures of me around. I think they like to show me off to everyone they know!

I am trying to make up my mind what I would like to be for Halloween. We have a great selection of Halloween Costumes, Shirts, Hoodies, Collars & Toys in our store. I can tell you though that you have to shop early to make sure you get what you want and get it on time. One of our manufacturers only ships Aug. 15th & Sept. 1st. I am such a procrasinator, but my family has been trying to convince me that if I see a costume I really like that I should buy it now or it might be gone! They are so organized & prepared! I am a dog & have to learn these things, but my owners are very good at teaching me.

My Mom thinks I should be a pumpkin for Halloween, but I really want to be a Dogzilla Dinosaur! I think that would be so cool!

If I'm real good, my Dad said I could have the Halloween Plush toys which include a pumpkin, ghost and candy corn squeaky toys. They are so much fun and I promised I would not tear them apart if I get them. I just love watching my Mom sew up toys! She is so good at it, and it just fasinates me. But I guess I will try to be good and take care of them.

Well, I best go get some rest! A dogs life can be really tiring! Maybe I will dream about Halloween! Until next time, Bow Wow!!

Marley's Time of Relaxation!

I really love having a place to call my own! I like being to be able to get away from everyone when I so desire! A separate home for your dog really gives him or her the ability to be able to have some privacy and relaxation away from the turmoil of their family! In the Arizona heat a dog needs some protection!

Your dog's home should do more than just protect him / her from the elements. A dog house should keep your dog warm in winter and cool in the summer. It should be durable and flexible enough to withstand extreme weather conditions without cracking or fading, and strong enough to withstand impact. Of course, an ideal dog home is also easy to assemble, easy to clean and an attractive addition to your yard. All Weather Insulated Dog Homes offer all of these and more - without breaking the bank! Multi-layer Panel Construction Unlike other plastic dog houses, which are made with a single thin layer of plastic, these unique dog homes feature an innovative multi-layer panel construction that creates insulation, flexibility and superior durability. Large door openings allows for better air flow for warmer climates. You want a Dog Home that is made to last and look great for years!

Another choice of Dog houses on the market are the wooden ones which are usually attractive. Wood construction is built with sturdiness and durability. Wood is Kiln Dried and Treated with Natural Color Stains to Enhance the Appearance and Durability of the Dog House. Stable Cellular Structure of Wood Allows the Dog House to withstand Humidity and Extreme Temperatures. Natural Scent of Wood Creates a Calming and Pleasant Atmosphere. Natural Insulating Feature of Wood keeps your Dog warm in the winter and cool in the summer.

The eco friendly dog houses are manufactured of green products. There are even indoor dog houses verses a dog crate. So there are many choices when shopping for Dog Houses.

Some tips for choosing the right size Dog House:

The door height of the house should be at least ¾ of your pet’s shoulder height (from the ground to the neck).

The length and width of the house should be at least equal to but not more than 25% larger than the distance between the nose and the root of the tail.

The height of the house should be at least 25% taller and no higher than 50% the height of your standing pet.

You might want to consider getting your best furry friend a place of his or her own to hang out in! They deserve it! I get great pleasure out of hanging out in my own pad!

Marley's Favorite Comfort Zone!

I've been pretty lazy these days and enjoying my most comfortable place which is my very own BioMedic Memory Foam Bed. For those of you who aren't familiar with these beds, let me tell you, they are the best thing since peanut butter! My owners sell them in our online Dog Store They are absolutely great! I guarantee all your furry friends would love one too, and wouldn't even bother getting on your furniture when they have their very own bed or BioMedic Memory Foam furniture! The comfort is wonderful and now I can dream happy dreams on my BioMedic Memory Foam Bed.

Now let me tell you a bit more about this BioMedic Dog Furniture. These truly orthopedic dog beds are the most comfortable dog beds ever! Max Comfort orthopedic pet beds provide excellent support, and at the same time they are SOFT AND MUCH MORE COMFORTABLE than other dog beds. A Max Comfort memory foam dog bed will provide luxurious comfort for the life of your pet, GUARANTEED. These orthopedic Max Comfort® BioMedic™ memory foam dog beds are very different from other beds represented as orthopedic dog beds. They provide unequaled comfort for, and a degree of prevention for, orthopedic conditions, such as hip or elbow Dysplasia and canine arthritis. BioMedic™ memory foam is much more dense than other orthopedic dog beds. This means the 4" dog bed provides more support and comfort than other 8" orthopedic dog beds and the BioMedic™ orthopedic dog beds are guaranteed to NEVER sag, flatten out, or break down and get lumpy FOR THE LIFE OF YOUR PET! That is important to me! I hate my bed getting lumpy because I toss and turn and don't get much sleep.

This BioMedic Dog Furniture features quality materials and craftsmanship, and are handmade in the USA. This bed is perfect for older or challenged dogs, but the incredible comfort of the orthopedic dog bed memory foam is appreciated by every pet. The ability of memory foam, a NASA based technology, to mold to the exact form of your dog helps distribute pressure evenly. Materials used are hypoallergenic and anti-bacterial. All orthopedic memory foam dog beds have zippered, removable, washable covers included. For your convenience, extra long heavy duty zippers are used. They are full length along the long side of the bed plus over half way up both short sides. This really helps when changing your cover. What more could you ask for? Unfortunately, accidents do happen on occasion!

All memory foam dog beds are custom made to your order. Not only are these the most comfortable dog beds ever--they will also save you money in the long run. With a lifetime guarantee you will never have to replace this bed! Retains it's shape and comfort for the life of your dog! My bed will always be one of my favorite things!!

4" orthopedic dog beds have 2" of memory foam over 2" of support foam. Perfect for dogs up to 100 pounds.

6" orthopedic dog beds have 3" of memory foam over 3" of support foam. Perfect for dogs over 100 pounds.

8" orthopedic dog beds have 3" of memory foam and 5" of support foam. These are fine for any weight.

Biomedic Memory Foam was originally developed by NASA for the space program, memory foam is the most comfortable sleep surface ever invented. I can vouch for that! The Max Comfort BioMedic memory foam orthopedic dog bed contours perfectly to your pet. It forms to your dog's exact shape providing even support and unparralelled comfort. Unlike other dog bed materials BioMedic memory foam dispurses compression points that aggravate orthopedic conditions. It actually absorbs pressure instead of reflecting it back to your dog. These are perfect for older or challenged dogs, and any dog of any age appreciates the incredible comfort. Other dog bed materials compress and compact at the points where the most weight is applied. The harder you press on these beds the more counter pressure or resistance is built up. These pressure points are why people and pets toss and turn at night to try to get away from the pressure build up and discomfort it causes. The obvious problem is that even with turning over the pressure points soon develop again. This is also why you, or your pet, wake up sore and unrested. My owners went through this before I got my BioMedic Memory Foam Dog Bed, but now we all get more sleep and better sleep as well!

BioMedic orthopedic dog beds provide maximum comfort for any dog of any size or age. The larger the dog the more prone they are to orthopedic issues, and the more time they spend laying down. BioMedic memory foam dog beds are reccomended by many Veteranarians especially for post operative recovery. While heeling your dog needs the best bed available.

A personal note from the owner of Max Comfort: "I've had rheumatoid arthritis since I was 7. In over 40 years, I've had four surgeries so far, including two total hip replacements. And prior to sleeping on my memory foam bed I would wake up every hour or two with pain and stiffness. Sleeping comfortably was just not an option. I bought expensive mattresses and even tried adding convoluted foam and gel foam on top of them with only minor results. The very first night I slept on memory foam I slept for five hours straight. I hadn't done that for decades. I woke up more rested and got moving much, much easier. I immediately added an option for memory foam cushions to our line of dog sofa beds. I looked around and saw that no one was making memory foam dog beds. Our BioMedic memory foam dog beds were born. Since then we have shipped thousands of these beds for deserving dogs all over America, and beyond. Your dog will find any position on our dog beds much more comfortable. They will rest and sleep much better and getting up and moving will be easier. We make our dog beds from the most comfortable domestic memory foam available, the exact same memory foam I sleep on every night. If you choose our orthopedic dog bed we promise to make you the most comfortable orthopedic dog bed available anywhere. You can rest knowing your dog has the best bed possible and it will be the last dog bed you will ever need to buy. Unless, of course, you would like additional beds for other rooms or other dogs. Our BioMedic memory foam dog beds are guaranteed to retain their shape and comfort for the life of your dog. If you give us your business we will handcraft a bed you and your dog will love."

Well, all this talking has worn me out so I guess I'm off to take a nap on my BioMedic Memory Foam Dog Bed! Can't wait to have sweet dreams and get rested up again. BioMedic Memory Foam Dog Furniture is making the world a more comfortable place, one dog at a time.

Welcome to Marley's World!

"Hi, I'm Marley! For some reason, I am always asked if my name came from the popular movie, "Marley and Me." While that dog is pretty darn cool...I have been told that it did not! And please understand that although I look young, I am in charge around here. I may only be 8 months old, but I'm a Rotti/German Shepherd mix, so I am quite smart and beautiful.

My family found me at the Arizona Humane Society, where I was known as "Zena, the Warrior Princess," and they just knew I was the one for them. You see, they just love dogs, and dogs love them. So, it only made sense for them to follow their love for dogs and open their dog store, "Dogs Like Us." Since I am a working dog, I was lucky to find my niche in the family business that has expanded into a corporation.

You just have to come shop with us at http://www.dogslikeus.com for all of your favorite furry friends. My family only provides high quality dog products at discount prices for every dog in your home. We stand behind every product we sell 100% and offer unbeatable customer service with fantastic prices. Here are just a few of the great things we sell: dog beds, dog furniture, dog houses, dog gear, doggie clothes, dog food, dog treats, toys, and health products. And be sure to visit our Paws Gift Boutique for unique gifts for every dog lover.

Drop by any time, and I will keep you up-to-date with what's happenin' in Marley's world. Right now, I'm just trying to get used to this Arizona heat...though I must say, I love chasing those lizards.

Stay Tuned...bow-wow

Marley
